Giancarlo Stanton injury update: Yankees slugger ‘moving in the right direction’
MLB

Giancarlo Stanton is slowly progressing.

The 29-year-old Yankees slugger has begun to participate in baseball activities, manager Aaron Boone told reporters this week. Stanton hit off a tee and did some light throwing, Boone said.

“He’s moving in the right direction,” Boone said, via MLB.com. “The fact that he was able to hit off a tee was a good thing.”

Stanton has been out since suffering a knee injury in late June. It’s his second trip to the injured list in 2019, as he also missed 68 games earlier this season with an oblique issue.
